The objective of this organization shall be to foster interest among its members in the social, economic, educational, civic, and cultural conditions about them; to develop leadership and character; to prepare for good citizenship; and to demonstrate concern for others.
The Crown Club shall be an affiliate of the Junior Auxiliary of Desoto County, and its policies shall be in harmony with the policies of that chapter. All activities and projects of the Crown Club shall be subject to the approval of the Crown Club Chairman/Co-Chairman, who is an active members of Junior Auxiliary of Desoto County. This Chairman/Co-Chairman shall direct all activities including membership, service projects, and ﬁnance requirements with the approval from the Board of Directors of the Junior Auxiliary of Desoto County.
A prospective candidate may be considered for membership if she:
- Is a rising 9th - 12th grade student
- Has been a resident of Desoto County for one year
- Has an overall 3.0 or above grade point average
- Is a daughter of any Junior Auxiliary active, life, or associate member in good standing OR
- Is nominated by a school counselor or principal with a letter of recommendation
Additional candidates may be nominated by an active or associate/life member in good standing with the chapter. The active or associate/life member shall ﬁll out a form of recommendation. After being invited, the prospective member will compose a one page essay describing why she would like to become a member of the Crown Club of Desoto County. The essay will then be reviewed by the Crown Club advisors and submitted to the Chapter for ﬁnal approval.
We are proud to announce that Crown Club of DeSoto County is the recipient of the Outstanding Crown Club Service Project Award, the Efficiency Award, the Norma DeLong Education Award for our Character Cabin project, and our very own Christina Flint Palmer received the Region II Betty Robbins Volunteer of the Year Award for 2016-2017! We also have received the National Association of Junior Auxiliary's Outstanding Crown Club of the Year for 2015-2016. Our Crown Club was also the recipient of NAJA's Outstanding Crown Club of the Year for 2014-2015, and NAJA's Outstanding Crown Club Project of the Year for 2014-2015. Congratulations to such a hard working group of young ladies!
