Crown Club

Objective

The objective of this organization shall be to foster interest among its members in the social, economic, educational, civic, and cultural conditions about them; to develop leadership and character; to prepare for good citizenship; and to demonstrate concern for others.

Policy

The Crown Club shall be an affiliate of the Junior Auxiliary of Desoto County, and its policies shall be in harmony with the policies of that chapter.  All activities and projects of the Crown Club shall be subject to the approval of the Crown Club Chairman/Co-Chairman, who is an active member of Junior Auxiliary of Desoto County.   This Chairman/Co-Chairman shall direct all activities including membership, service projects, and finance requirements with the approval from the Board of Directors of the Junior Auxiliary of Desoto County.

 

Membership

A prospective candidate may be considered for membership if she:

  • Is a rising 9th - 12th grade student

  • Has been a resident of Desoto County for one year

  • Has an overall 2.75 or above grade point average

  • Is a daughter of any Junior Auxiliary active, life, or associate member in good standing OR

  • Is nominated by a school counselor or principal with a letter of recommendation

Additional candidates may be nominated by an active or associate/life member in good standing with the chapter.  The active or associate/life member shall fill out a form of recommendation. After being invited, the prospective member will attend an interest meeting in August to learn the objective, requirements, and duties of being a Crown Club member.  After acceptance, meetings will start in September and will run monthly through May.

To maintain a membership in good standing, a member must:

  • Attend 5 of the 8 regular meetings

  • Pay annual dues of $50 by October 1

  • Complete a minimum of 10 service hours

  • Complete a minimum of 2 finance hours

  • Maintain an overall 2.75 or above grade point average

Meeting

Regular Monthly Meetings will be held at a time appointed by the Crown Club Chairman at the beginning of the each year.
